"COMPULSIVE SEWING" Quilt

Last week it wasn't a good period for me and my family...my mind was "disconnected". The only thing that I was able to do was...to turn over the scraps' basket and begin to sew one scrap to an other scrap...two scraps with two others...and so on...without rules...without measures...only sewing on!
So... this is my "COMPULSIVE SEWING" Quilt

It is very special for me because it was my therapy!

Modern tote bag

A "Modern" touch for my new tote bag: I made it with an Ikea runner (Marit), batik for the lining and handmade coconut buttons....a strange mix!

SHATTERED RUNNER

My first real modern work....."Shattered runner"!!

It was a long time that I wanted to learn the technique to intersect strips on a background....in a good way and with a good result! I found the answer on this beautiful book...

I love so much all the projects of this "bible".....I would like make other works inspired by it!!

So.....I love this little work...

COLORFUL BABY QUILT

This time I wanted....colors colors colors!!!!
For this baby quilt I used a "little" jelly roll (only 20 stripes) that my daughter Giulia gifted me last year. It was perfect for a baby quilt....for a sweet little girl....for my new grandniece Matilde!!!

I cut  the stripes random and then I sew the pieces one after the other , always random, in a long long stripe. Then I folded in half and sewn....folded in half and sewn....so, in short time, I had a quilt top done!

A super easy back from my stash and...the beauty was ready for the quilting.

Bubbles bubbles and....more bubbles for the machine quilting in the center and straight lines for the border!! Quick and cute work!

I can't wait to gift it to my sweet Matilde!!!

My Medallion Quilt Top.....

Finally....the "giant" is done.

It measures 99" x 83" (about 250 cm. x 210 cm.) and it is VERY BIG for my liking...
(I don't want to think about the quilting..... I'm a bit worried!!!).
But it is a sweet and pretty quilt top and I love it.

...and now...go ahead with another adventure

Kimonos' runner

I finished my first serious paper piecing work: Kimonos' runner!
I used japanese fabric and light weight linen.

It measures 19" x 40 " (about cm. 48 x 100 cm.) and it can become a panel to hang.

I handquilted it with perlè cotton, in ecru color and I'm satisfied how it turned out.

New look on my dining table!

MY NEW PAPER PIECING....WIP

For my second "attempt" in paper piecing I chose to make these lovely kimono blocks (about 7" X 8").
I used linen and japonese fabric..... (scraps from my BOM 2012/13)!

Probably.....they will became a mini-quilt to hang or a table runner for my dining room.

Little Circle of Flying Geese....

I finally learned how to sew The Circle of Flying Geese by paper piecing technique!!!
My quilters' group, all dear friends, helped me with useful tips, right paper and lovely encouragements!!!
For this first block  (15" X 15") I used scaps and solid black fabric (Ikea cotton)...... but the result is very good....may be I will make a cushion or a centerpiece.
