SHATTERED RUNNER

My first real modern work....."Shattered runner"!!

It was a long time that I wanted to learn the technique to intersect strips on a background....in a good way and with a good result! I found the answer on this beautiful book...

I love so much all the projects of this "bible".....I would like make other works inspired by it!!

So.....I love this little work...

A new book and a new block.

Last thursday was a good day! In the morning I received , from Beth of Love Laugh Quilt, the book that I won last month on her giveaway!
The book is "Out of the Box with easy blocks" and the authors are Mary Lou Weidman and Melanie Bautista McFarland. The book is really intriguing and I think that I will learn a lot about technical.

Inside there is a kind note from Beth and Mary Lou and Melanie autographs!

Later, in the afternoon, I had my class of "Japanese X & + Block" with my teacher Nicoletta.
It is  very interesting block, not too difficult to do, but very particular for the use of color.
In true, I have a lot of problems with the theory color: I have to study a lot and make experiments to try to pull out my colored part (that I hope to have inside me)!

This is the block made with fall colors.....

....and this with other colored scaps!
I like both!

Finally.......!

I waited for one month (exactly one month!) this book from UK!
Just this morning I thought to write an email to the site where I bought it but then, with a lot of things to do, I forgot this intention..........
........at noon the postman brought me the parcel from U.K.!

Here it is!

Something for the bedroom......

....and something for a child!

........a pretty "Seasonal Project"!

In this book (the autor is Emma Hardy) there are a lot of easy projects, just for me that I am a beginner!

I don't know if I love the books more or fabrics!
