Modern tote bag
A "Modern" touch for my new tote bag: I made it with an Ikea runner (Marit), batik for the lining and handmade coconut buttons....a strange mix!

SHATTERED RUNNER
My first real modern work....."Shattered runner"!!
It was a long time that I wanted to learn the technique to intersect strips on a background....in a good way and with a good result! I found the answer on this beautiful book...
So.....I love this little work...

Kimonos' runner
I finished my first serious paper piecing work: Kimonos' runner!
I used japanese fabric and light weight linen.
I used japanese fabric and light weight linen.
It measures 19" x 40 " (about cm. 48 x 100 cm.) and it can become a panel to hang.
I handquilted it with perlè cotton, in ecru color and I'm satisfied how it turned out.
New look on my dining table!

MY NEW PAPER PIECING....WIP
For my second "attempt" in paper piecing I chose to make these lovely kimono blocks (about 7" X 8").
I used linen and japonese fabric..... (scraps from my BOM 2012/13)!
Probably.....they will became a mini-quilt to hang or a table runner for my dining room.

Roxy Quilt meets Mondrian
Modern Art can inspire even a beginner like me! Mondrian's Art is perfect!
I though to make this table runner............
I though to make this table runner............
.....on my kitchen table.....
......in the dining room.....
.......or on the portico table!
I really like Piet Mondrian but in the future I'd like to do something inspired by the drawings of my preferite artist, M.C. Escher. I know that it is indeed a hard, hard idea!
