.....Totally Ikea Top
Last month, I had bought three cuttings of Ikea fabric. It isn't really the same cotton like American fabric but it is 100% cotton, a bit heavier than American cotton.
Of course I prewashed all pieces.
But I had only three patterns: one solid, stripes and little cheched so........I have played with the blocks!
Squares, HST, Log Cabin, Stripes, Scraps........
I think that I will make the back with soft fleece, without internal batting, then a simple machine quilting, may be straight lines!
It looks great! I'm always looking at the fabrics at Ikea, but as you said, they are a bit heavier, so I never bought any. Good idea about the backing. I love it!
ReplyDeleteWonderful!
ReplyDeleteMy own stash is 70% Ikea too, I usually make home-dressing projects or quilt backs with it...
I think Ikea fabric is pretty soft, especially if you wash it several times, and the cotton itself is of very good quality.
But I digress... I love the soft and warm look of your quilt top, and totally agree with you about the back and the quilting. Can't wait to see it finished!
